Redstone Resort

Golf in the West Kootenay’s, and along the Kootenay Golf Trail is what makes golf in Canada special. The Redstone Resort, brings it all together with superb scenery, challenging layouts, elevation changes and the utter joy of watching your 220 yard drive traveling out to the 250 mark. If you are looking for a great example of a modern classically designed mountain golf course, then Redstone Resort is the course for you.

As with most mountain towns and areas with golf courses, spring time golf will allow you to enjoy seeing snowcapped peaks in the surrounding mountains, while the summer days are long and warm. The key to scoring well is to avoid the deep bunkers, streams, ravines and managing the elevations changes. The hazards are plenty but they are out in front of you where you can see them and not hidden. Consider yourself forewarned, biting off more than you can chew, or playing in the streams and ravines will add strokes to your round. Given that it is a mountain course, the greens at Redstone Resort are not overly contoured, but you will still need to give them a good look before making your putt.

Opened in 2008, Redstone Resort has become the best conditioned course in the area. The greens are A4 bentgrass and the fairways and tees are bluegrass. The white silica sand found in its bunkers adds to its visual appeal.
Redstone Resort enjoys a temperate climate with relatively dry summers allowing for golf eight months of the year.
